Comments on: NTL becomes Virgin Media, but will they provide the light so badly needed?

Sounds like the old NTL to me. Though it seems with the V+ box they are matching one of my five things to do to turn the company around.

Anyone who hasn’t heard about it until now can read about it here. It certainly sounds like the ‘Jazz Box’ to me.

Unfortunately, from my experiences, Virgin Media has a lot of work to do until it matches Sky in terms of customer service.

I tried to get a V+ box installed on launch day (7 Feb) and the blokes in the van duly showed up…only to tell us that, hilariously, their flagship product had been withdrawn in our area (South London) because all the old logos were still on them! Makes you wonder why the guys didn’t bother to find out what we were after before appearing at our doorstep, but there you go.

I’ve since spoken to five different people over at Virgin each giving me different answers about whether the unit is even available where I live.

Glossy Uma Thurman ads aside, sounds a bit too much like the old NTL to me.

All good points, although I’m happy to say I’m no longer an NTL customer after much hassle. I think number 5 is particularly important; if they manage to successfully re-brand themselves with Virgin’s sleek design, then I think they’re going to get a large amount more customers. As soon as they replace their current image of not working and bad services with Virgin’s apparent high-quality one, people will likely begin starting to join.
